House
7 Miles to Kingston is your get-away to Hudson Valley’s history and natural beauty. This 300-year-old Colonial Stone House was fully restored with lots of love and attention to the details that preserve its historic identity, while also being appointed with comfortable modern conveniences for guests to enjoy.
Rooms
A panoramic view of the Catskills, our saltwater swimming pool, a patio with sun chairs for relaxation, and a wood-fired caldron BBQ beside a gas grill for use during warmer months greets guests. The property boasts many delightful features, the most unique being its outdoor Barrel Sauna, an incredibly rejuvenating off-grid wood-burning sauna surrounded by lush apple trees.
Guests are encouraged to explore our six acres of land, which include direct access to the Esopus Creek, which winds through the adjacent nature preserve and onto the far end of the property. Esopus Creek is an incredible spot to spend time; from meditating to fishing or even kayaking.
We invite you to experience the rejuvenation and inspiration of the Hudson Valley and the Catskills in one of its oldest and grandest stone houses.
The Interior
The Kitchen:
Our comfortable and spacious kitchen is nicely balanced between modern conveniences (such as a 6-burner Viking gas range, and a very functional large island crafted from cement and all needed appliances) and the historic feeling espoused by the lo wood beams and restored walk-in fireplace.
The Living Room:
The living room has an electric fireplace and a Vico Magistretti for Cassina leather sofa. There’s plenty of room to relax, including a video projector with a pull-down screen for your own movie night experience.
The Dining Room:
The dining room is anchored by a beautiful Maple “Pace” dining table, making it an excellent space for dinner parties. It also includes a decorative fireplace and a Jonathan Adler Caracas Brass Chandelier.
The Sun Room:
The sun room’s vintage wood table seats 12 guests for a leisurely lunch. It is finished with ceiling fans, which provide a nice breeze during the summer months.
The Bedrooms:
7 Miles to Kingston is a 4-bedroom home.
The Master Bedroom:
The master bedroom is accessed through a separate staircase and provides not just privacy but a tremendous view through panorama windows to the catskill mountain range. The unique open-floor plan sports a clawfoot bathtub, open cement-based shower and a farm-house sink, and of course a king-sized bed. A separate room provides privacy for the toilette.
The Main Guest Room:
The largest bedroom in the guest wing features exposed stone walls, a décor fireplace, lots of closet space, a seating area for privacy, and a queen-sized platform bed.
The White Bedroom:
The white bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and an art deco bench.
The Yellow Bedroom:
The yellow bedroom is furnished with two twin size beds and features an open closet.
The Bathrooms:
7 Miles to Kingston is a 2.5-bathroom house.
The Master Bedroom Bathroom:
The master bathroom is an open-layout bathroom with a shower, a clawfoot bathtub, and an antique, farm-style sink.
The Guest-Wing Bathroom:
The guest bathroom is a full-size bathroom with a soaking tub, wellness rain shower, and heating towel rack.
The Half Bathroom:
The half bathroom lives on the ground floor and features golden walls and a ceramic vintage sink.
Outdoor
With a panoramic view of the Catskills Range, the seasonable saltwater swimming pool with a patio and sun chairs offers relaxation. Also set behind the house, a wood-fired caldron BBQ, beside a gas grill invites for outdoor cooking. To top the experience, we offer an outdoor Barrel Sauna. The off-the-grid wood-burning sauna is an incredibly rejuvenating and enjoyable set among many apple trees.
Guests can wander the 6 acres of land leading – at the far end to the Esopus creek winding through the adjacent nature preserve. It is very calming to hang out by the creek, fish, or kayak.

The Waterfront:
7 Miles to Kingston gives guests direct access to Esopus Creek, which winds through the adjacent nature preserve and onto the far end of our property. Grand and majestic, Esopus Creek is the largest, most famous, and most frequented of all the streams in the Ashokan Watershed, a vital water supply for nearby towns. Esopus Creek is an incredible spot to mediate or to go fishing or kayaking.
The Fire Pit:
A large fire pit beside the fenced-in pool area is surrounded by eight Adirondack chairs made of the wood of former Whiskey barrels.
The European Sauna:
Our outdoor Barrel Sauna is perhaps the most unique on-property feature. An incredibly rejuvenating off-grid wood-burning sauna surrounded by lush apple trees, it provides the perfect experience for any guest who is looking to completely unwind.
The Pool:
The seasonable saltwater pool will be open around May and closed first half of October, depending on the weather. The 20×40” pool is warmed up by the sun with the use of a solar blanket.

Pricing various between $1100 and $1900/night
Minimum Stay: 3 nights
Maximum Stay: 15 nights
Maximum Occupancy: 8 guests for overnight stays and 2 guests for daytime visit
